Large Accessible Minibus
Our largest wheelchair accessible Minibus which means you can carry up to six wheelchair passengers, in addition to the driver and two front seat passengers. By reducing the number of wheelchairs you can increase the number of standard seats to achieve a mixture of both.
A Large Accessible Minibus is categorised as approximately 6.5m, or just over 21 feet long. It is longer than every UK road car. In technical terms the size is referred to as an ‘L4’ which is the largest standard Minibus we manufacture.
A Large Accessible Minibus can be equipped with a variety of mobility extras. For passengers who can walk the journey might start with an electric side step for ease of entry, then a high vis grab rail to aid entry. Once aboard, seats with integrated handrails help passengers to their seat. Lastly, a seatbelt warning system alerts the driver if anyone is struggling to buckle up.
Our electric lifts are supplied by industry leading manufacturers. If you want to maximise wheelchair passengers, by fitting an underfloor lift (which comes up from outside of the vehicle) you can hold 6 wheelchairs. If you fit an onboard lift, this reduces usable space on the Minibus and reduces the wheelchair access to 4.
Our Large Accessible Minibus is aimed at operators who regularly carry multiple wheelchair passengers. The size provides space for both the passengers and anyone onboard helping to support the disabled passenger. Alternatively, the flexibility of removal seating enables the Minibus to be used for up to 17 standard seats (including driver).
