Since 2007 Minibus World has been manufacturing and converting vans into Minibuses. To date over 5,000 of our vehicles have been put on the road. From the early days, it become clear that a wheelchair accessible Minibus is a lifeline to the world for some people.
Midsize Accessible Minibus
A Midsize Wheelchair Accessible Minibus is approximately 6m in length, or nearly 20 feet. This makes it longer than most road cars. In technical terms the size is referred to as an ‘L3’ and at Minibus World we refer to it as an ‘Easy On’ (because you may be able to drive it on a car licence*).
In standard seating, a midsize can accommodate 14 people, but in wheelchair accessible configuration, this changes depending on how many wheelchairs are onboard. Using a combination of removable seating up to 4 wheelchair passengers can be carried along with 3 additional seats remaining (including the driver). Flexible configuration means numerous combination of seating are available depending on wheelchair passenger numbers.
A Midsize Wheelchair Accessible Minibus can be equipped with a variety of aids. For able bodied passengers the journey might start with an electric side step for ease of entry, then a grab rail to aid entry. Once aboard, seats with integrated handrails help to find your seat. Lastly a seatbelt warning system alerts the driver if anyone is struggling to buckle up.
For wheelchair access all of our midsize accessible's come with an electric wheelchair lift as standard included within the price. Our electric lifts are supplied by industry leading manufacturers.
Our Midsize Accessible Minibus is aimed at operators who regularly carry wheelchair passengers, and usually more than one. Alternatively, the flexibility of removal seating enables the Minibus to be used for up to 14 standard seats (including driver).
