Road Safety Week 2026

Home > Insights > Road Safety Week 2026

Introduction

November 15-21 is Road Safety Week 2026 in association Brake. At Minibus World we manufacturer vehicles for Schools, Charities, Community Transport Groups, Sport Clubs and more. As a result, we fully understand the importance of responsible driving and a safe vehicle.

What is Road Safety Week 2026?

Held every November, Road safety Week is a national campaign organised by Brake. It highlights the devastating consequences of road deaths and injuries, calling for action to make our roads safer.

Each year, thousands of schools, businesses, emergency services, campaigners and local communities get involved. By sharing road safety messages and reaching millions of people across the UK, they help raise awareness and drive positive change.

Road Safety Week provides an important opportunity to spark conversations about road safety, both nationally and within our local communities. By working together, we can all play a part in making our roads safer.

Minibus World - Road Safety

Stay Visible

As we head into winter ensure all your vehicle lights work and that headlights are clean and free from salt, spray and dirt.

  • Regularly top up your screenwash and add extra strength to prevent freezing.
  • Carry high vis jackets for each passenger, torch and warning triangle (kits are available from Minibus World).
  • Carry spare lightbulbs and screenwash.

Maintain Your Minibus.

  • Tyres – regularly check pressures and tread.
  • Fluids – screenwash, oil, coolant, brake fluid.
  • Battery – charged and ready. If your vehicle struggles to start, it might be the battery.
  • Lights – all working and clean lenses.
  • Heating – all working and demisting windows effectively.

This recommended maintenance is in addition to following the Minibus manufacturers servicing schedule and regular MOT’s.

Passenger Safety

  • Buckle Up – seatbelts are a legal requirement in a Minibus. At Minibus World we offer a seatbelt driver alert system as an optional extra.
  • Accessibility – ramps, lifts, grab rails and wheelchair restraints all keep passengers safe entering, exiting and while onboard. Make sure they are serviced in accordance with manufacturer guidance.
  • Visibility – if your passengers need to leave the Minibus in an emergency, then high vis jackets, a warning triangle and torch are all essential items.

Stay Safe

Make sure your driver is qualified to be at the wheel of your Minibus, adjusts their style accordingly (it’s not a car) and that your passengers also know their role. That is, seatbelt on, no moving around, don’t distract the driver. Road Safety Week 2026 should last all year round.

Safe travels!
