Sales and Marketing Manager, Minibus World Ltd

Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire
Salary - Attractive for the right candidate
Full Time Permanent

Minibus World Ltd is a rapidly growing family-run 2nd stage motor-vehicle manufacturer converting vans to minibuses and selling high quality used vehicles. We are a Peugeot Motor Company approved converter and our customers include the Education, Care, Charity and Voluntary sectors.

We require a Sales and Marketing Manager to lead our sales department. Commercial vehicle sales experience is desirable but not essential as full job-specific training will be given. Higher importance will be allocated to the general skills and qualities outlined below as well as a proven track record in delivering a successful range of marketing strategies and campaigns to boost sales and meet agreed targets.

Excellent verbal, written and organisational skills are essential and the ideal candidate will also be personable, cooperative and flexible as well as tenacious and efficient. A good working knowledge of Microsoft and competent computer skills are also important.

Key responsibilities
  1. Sales/Business development (approximately 70% of workload)
    • To identify, develop and build relationships with prospective clients, ensuring that all sales opportunities for Minibus World are acted upon
    • To further develop relationships with existing business partners and identify and develop opportunities with new partners
    • To create a clear and accurate record of sales leads and use it to develop and refine our sales and marketing strategies
    • Identify and attend relevant networking events and follow up all leads gathered

  2. Marketing and PR (approximately 25% of workload)
    • To work alongside the MD in the management of direct marketing, including regular email shots to the prospect database
    • To keep the content of the Company’s website up to date and relevant
    • To identify and manage a social media strategy for the Company and increase our social media exposure
    • To develop SEO
    • To improve our exposure in magazines and obtain regular testimonials from customers
    • To monitor the relative success of different social media strategies, report your findings to the MD and refine the strategies to ensure maximum impact
    • To work with the MD to identify PR opportunities and to action those deemed valuable for the Company’s brand and reputational development
    • To identify suitable awards for the Company to enter

  3. Competitor and market awareness (approximately 5% of workload)
    • To research the latest developments and products in the industry to ensure our range of services continues to offer good value for clients and to make suggestions to the MD when any new opportunities for service enhancement are identified
    • Have a good awareness of competitor products and pricing
Line Management Responsibility
You will be responsible for the direct line management of other sales executives and also customer services.

Reporting Structure: reporting directly to the Managing Director initially.

Experience
  •   Experience of sales and marketing in a B2B environment.
Qualifications
  •   Educated to degree level, or having equivalent work experience
Hours of work
  •   The role is full time (39 hours per week, Monday to Friday).
Location
The role is principally office-based, although visits to prospects’ offices and events are required. Access to a car and a clean driving licence are therefore essential. All travel expenses will be paid in accordance with HMRC guidelines (i.e. all business-related travel expenses will be reimbursed, but travel to and from home to the office cannot be paid).

Remuneration package
Competitive for the right person following successful completion of a training period

Phone and laptop
A smartphone and laptop will be provided. The cost of personal calls and data access (subject to agreed limits) will be met by the Company.

Holiday
The full-year entitlement for this role is 28 days including 8 Bank Holidays.

We require a Sales Executive to help with the tasks listed below. Commercial vehicle sales experience is desirable but not essential as full job-specific training will be given. Higher importance will be allocated to the general skills and qualities required in the paragraph below.

Excellent verbal, written and organisational skills are essential and the ideal candidate will also be personable, cooperative and flexible as well as tenacious and efficient. A good working knowledge of Microsoft and competent computer skills are also important.

Typical tasks might include:
  •   Identify and develop relationships with new and existing customers
  •   Develop a referral system for existing customers
  •   Brand identity enhancement / professional face of the company
  •   Competitor research
  •   Appointment booking and provision of nationwide vehicle demonstrations
We are located in Stoke on Trent but operate throughout the UK and our offices are a 5 minute drive from the A500.
