Welfare and Campervan Converter

CVM World Ltd is a rapidly growing family-run 2nd stage motor-vehicle manufacturer converting vans to welfare vehicles, campervans and minibuses as well as selling high quality used vehicles. We are a Peugeot Motor Company approved converter and our customers include the Construction, Education, Care, Charity and Voluntary sectors.

We specialise in converting Peugeot Boxer and Ford Transit panel vans; however, we build on all vehicles, including high quality used vans. It is an exciting time to join the company as recently we have recently rebranded and added other products to our range.

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years’ experience building welfare vehicles and/or campervans to work alongside our experienced van conversion team in our factory in Knypersley, Stoke on Trent. The successful candidate will be confident building a vehicle from start to finish, including the installation of all plumbing and electrics. Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative and have good communication skills. You’ll work in a clean and safe manner, adhering to health and safety procedures.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to produce a high level of workmanship both as a team member and an individual. You would be required to carry out a range of different duties and tasks so experience is essential in some of the following areas:
  • Internal panelling
  • Window installation and trimming
  • 240v and 12v electrics (including the installation of inverters and solar panels)
  • 8mm gas installation
  • All plumbing including water heaters, toilets and sinks/showers
  • Cabinet making/carpentry
  • Pop-top roof installations

We are looking for an experienced auto electrical engineer to join our team in Knypersley. We specialise in converting Peugeot Boxer panel vans into minibuses, some of which are fully accessible with either on-board or underfloor lifts and electric steps. It is an exciting time to join the company as we have recently expanded our business to incorporate the manufacturing of camper vans and welfare vehicles and also have our first orders for conversions on electric base vehicles. The ideal candidate will have 5 years+ experience as an auto electrician and will have a flexible approach to the role and be keen to get involved in all projects. Experience installing reversing cameras, parking sensors, leisure batteries, solar power, 12v to 240v inverters and heating systems as well as the ability to fault-find is also essential. The successful candidate will also have the ability to draw circuit diagrams to support installation and contribute to the production of build manuals for different products.

Mechanic at CVM World

We require a mechanic to join our busy team. The successful applicant will be a vehicle mechanic and will have a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds Level 2, equivalent in an engineering discipline or at least 5 years’ practical experience in a garage environment.

Day-to-day duties:
  • Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to a high standard
  • Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
  • Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and resolving defects
  • Road testing vehicles to check repairs
  • Maintaining equipment and making sure tools are in good condition
  • Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed
  • Completing all documentation to the required standard

We are looking for an experienced paint sprayer to join our team in Knypersley. We specialise in converting panel vans into a range of products and we build on new and high quality used vehicles from all manufacturers. It is an exciting time to join the company as we have recently expanded into the rapidly growing campervan and welfare van market. In addition to this, we have launched our own customised version of the Ford Ranger.

The successful candidate will be a time-served sprayer capable of spraying vehicles to a high standard. They will have a good eye for detail as the role will also include a finishing element to ensure that all aspects of the vehicle are in the best possible condition when it is received by the customer. The successful candidate will be expected to be involved in all stages of vehicle preparation before it enters the spray booth, including light panel beating, filling, sand and masking.

KEY TASKS:
  •   Spraying vehicles/vehicle repairs to a high standard
  •   Preparing the vehicle for spraying (including light filling, sanding and masking)

Coachbuilder Position at CVM World

The successful applicant will be fully trained in the building of all these vehicles.

We require a Coach Builder to join our team. The successful applicant will ideally have experience of light commercial vehicle conversions or experience of building camper/welfare vans. Experience of window and seat fitting would be an advantage but not necessarily essential as full training will be provided by our experienced and highly skilled coach builders. The position will suit someone from a practical/trade background with good all-round ability and a desire to learn new skills. You should have good hand to eye coordination, be good with hand tools, be a hard-working team player with a positive attitude to work.

The position is an exciting opportunity which will lead to you being able to build a full range of specialist vehicles without support.

You will be trained to complete a full range of tasks including:
  • Cutting window openings in the sides of vehicles
  • First fixing wiring for interior lights and other electrical components
  • Cutting out roof light openings
  • Laying flooring in the rear of the vans
  • Insulating the inside of the vehicles prior to paneling/trimming
  • Fitting windows
  • Trimming the interior of vehicles and fitting seats
  • Fitting sinks, toilets and heaters to the inside of vehicles
